Waxes
Beeswax comes in a container for easy application. The beeswax helps protect the hemp from extra moisture. The extra moisture can cause swelling, that makes it difficult to move the hemped areas of the bagpipes. To use, Simply run the hemp through the plastic holder device. Some pipers run the beeswax over the final wrap of hemp to ensure that the parts move smoothly. To do this, you will have to remove the hemp from the container.
Pure Beeswax is used for the same application as the regular beeswax that we sell. Some people prefer the pure beeswax because it is stickier than the regular wax. Both work just fine and either will work good on the hemped joints on the bagpipe.
Cobblers wax is specially formulated to apply black wax to the first bit of hemp for extra sticking power. It is usually used for starting to re-hemp a joint on the set of pipes, and helps to prevent the hemp from spinning. This wax is also formulated so that it will not melt into a black puddle in your pipe case, which has been an issue in the past. This cob of Cobblers wax comes complete with a piece of leather to use as a hand grip.
Double wax is quite simply a cob of half pure beeswax and half cobblers wax. This way you will only need one cob in your pipe case, and it can be used for two different purposes. Comes complete with a piece of leather to use as a hand grip. This double wax cob is also formulated so that it will not melt into a black puddle in your pipe case, which has been an issue in the past.
