Border Pipes – The Border Pipes have become increasing popular over the last number of years. These pipes are made of Delrin, and have a great sound similar to the Great Highland Pipes, but they are not nearly as loud in volume. The chanter is pitched in concert A. The drones consist of a bass, alto, and tenor drone, giving the pipes a nice overall drone sound. The bag is synthetic, chanter reed is cane, and the drones use specially designed EZdrone border pipe drone reeds. The picture to the left shows a mouth blown set of Border pipes, but they are also available as the more traditional bellows blown set up. These pipes have the perfect blend for playing with a fiddle player.
